Open Forum

I have been thinking about opening myself up for questions and inquiry on both a personal and professional level recently. Today I decided I'd go for it. I am opening the floor to you, my readers, to ask me anything.

Now, please understand that I have the right to refuse to answer any question I do no feel will be productive or at least entertaining. I am hoping for some really interesting questions, so don't disappoint me! I also would appreciate keeping things G or at least PG, in case there are young impressionable's reading this blog.

I am anxious to see what you want to know about me and my life on the road. As questions come in and I have time to answer them, I will post them as individual blogs. So stay tuned... this should get interesting!

Questions for you from a wanna-be trucker: 1) Do you feel safe when you're sleeping in the rig? 2) How long have you been with your company? Do you want to be an owner/op? I'm a mom with kids at home still, going to be signing up for trucking school hopefully before school lets out in early June (April hopefully). Do you have any advice? (As long as said advice is not "don't do it," I'm all ears! Thanks! I love your blog!

How do you feel about driving solo? Would you rather have a partner/driver? Ty June.

Hi Gi-Gi

Have you ever thought about getting a little dog so you will have some company on the road? I know some truckers have dogs and even cats traveling on the road with them.

But maybe you can't have a pet if you don't own the truck?

Anon: How old are your children? And what is it about driving that attracts you?

The kids range from 24 to 10. Two are out of the house, the other 3 are 10. Yes, you read that right. What attracts me to driving? The solitude... ;) Plus I have always always always loved to drive. When I got my driver's license at 16, everybody promised me that I would "get sick" of driving, but that hasn't happened yet. Obviously because of the age of the younger kids, I'll be looking for a local or regional route type job for a few years, but I would dearly love to go over-the-road.

Do you ever travel to Portland Oregon?

First, let me say I'm a GIANT fan. I found your blog through my friend P (grumpnet) and I read the entire thing the first night and I check in on you at least three or four times a week. You're doing something I've totally wanted to do, but never had the cojones to do. :) I admire you SO much for doing it!

I've said a million times how much I'd love a life on the road with nothing but me and some XM. Your adventures keep me smiling and I feel sympathy for you when you're having a crappy day.

I don't really have a question at the minute, just heaping praise. If I think one one, I'll be back! Keep rockin', girl!
