What's that smell?

Oh man I had just spent probably an hour writing a post about "best friends" that I ended up deleting because it was just too depressing. It started out as an idea because of a radio show I listen to every day on XM where a girl wrote in asking for advice on an issue she was having with her hubby-to-be wherein she didn't feel like he was her "best friend". She brought up the fact that so many people she knew in marriages spoke of how they had married their best friend and how that made her feel like something was wrong with her because she didn't consider her future husband to be her best friend. I personally don't feel that you should have to feel like your husband or fiance or boyfriend is your absolute best friend. I didn't consider my husband to be my best friend until we were years into our relationship. But we also lived together for nearly 8 years before we decided to get married and had ample time to become best friends before making that

Paradigm Shift

Ok so apparently things have changed no only over on the old Facebook but also here on the old Blogger.  W T F is this crap? Reading, you probably don't see a darn thing different, since I haven't actually changed the look of my blog since my last reinvention (which is still being met with opposition for some reason).  But as I am posting this, what I see is completely different from what it was when I posted the last blog about my NYC adventure.  I'm not completely happy.  But I'll adapt and accept it after a few uses.  I was just taken off guard by it today.  And I'm not a bit bitter about it like some folks were about the changes made over at the Facebook website.  Man, people were freakin' salty about that whole "timeline" thing.  Personally, I loved it from the start.  I think it's a fresh new way of seeing things.  And I never understood the way people reacted so harshly to it because it's only an issue if you're viewing perso

Killed it in NYC

I was very proud of myself yesterday. The day before, yeah... not so much. Because no one respects a proper flip-out or full on panic attack. Not even the person having it. I was assigned a load that delivered on Staten Island which was really easy-peasy. Following that assignment was a three stop pick-up that would find me in Queens, the Bronx and finally New Jersey. And as I Google mapped each of the places on my iPhone, things quickly spiraled out of control and I found myself in the midst of a massive panic attack. Like, seriously I thought I was going to die at one point. But after calling the places for directions and talking it over with my hubby I finally decided I was good with it. I didn't have any choice really, I had to do it so I just accepted it and moved on. Heck, I even managed a great nights sleep at the Costco parking lot where I'd delivered that evening on Staten Island. I mean, a really great nights sleep. And when I woke up in the morning, I thought.

Slackin'

I just watched two episodes of X-Files (season 3) on Netflix after having sat at the computer with my fingers perched on the keys ready to spill forth whatever stroke of genius was lingering in my fingertips. Only... nothing came out. So now, after one really good episode about a cursed urn of remains and a really bad episode about a jacked up Asian body part removal game, I'm pretty sure I'm ready to put a few words on the old blogaroni. I had a great Easter weekend at home. It was shorter than expected as I was due to get home Friday and have Saturday and Sunday off. But life gets screwy out here sometimes and I ended up getting home instead on Saturday morning. And since I was already preloaded with a work assignment for Monday, I had to cut my visit shorter than I'd have liked. But whatev's. When I got home the first thing I did was go home and wash the grime off in my own shower, without shoes on. Then the hubby and I went out running errands like two badass

The Long and Short of It.

Not quite sure where to start really. It's obviously been quite a while since I last posted. And there have been a few of you to send me nice messaging asking why I've not been posting. So thoughtful of you. I'm just busy. Really busy. And cheap. A lot of the truck stops HAVE wi-fi but you have to pay for it. I'm not paying for something I don't need, so I opt not to get access. The places that have had free wi-fi have been places that upon my arrival, I find that falling face first into bed is a better option than blogging. I've been working hard and just haven't felt like taking precious sleeping time out to tell you stories that will probably just bore you to death. While I've been working my butt off nothing really too exciting has happened. I have picked up loads, driven hundreds of miles and delivered loads. I haven't seen any weenie wagers. I haven't seen or been involved in any accidents or incidents. I haven't even taken
