Down Time

Well I hadn't anticipated sitting around today. I left the truck stop and made it to my delivery location earlier than I'd expected, but then I remembered it is Saturday and traffic in Atlanta isn't nearly as terrible on the weekends as it is during the week.

When I got to my delivery point things went well. I got in, dropped and parked out of the way waiting for my next work assignment. I was about to give up waiting and grab an empty and head over to a truck stop but just as I'd made this decision I got my next dispatch. The load was picking up at right where I was at.

I went into the dispatch office at the facility to inform them I was picking up instead of just grabbing an empty and was told that the load wasn't ready yet. Of course. She disappeared for a few minutes and returned with the news that the load wasn't even scheduled to be loaded until around midnight. And of course, if I left the property I was going to require an empty to return to pick up the load. So I grabbed an empty after all and then hit the road.

I'll be staying at our Atlanta company terminal for the night. Stuffing my face with pizza and knocking out a few episodes of the X-Files. Then I'll go back in the morning and get my load and roll up to Charlotte with it. I'm hoping this coming week will be better for the miles. This week has been weak.

Digital Camera Help...

I recently bought a Kodak EasyShare M863 camera at Circuit City. I am not thrilled with the quality of pictures and some of the camera's functions. Mind you, I've only taken about 50 pictures so far, but when I uploaded them to my laptop and viewed them on the screen, they just looked horrible. My old camera was a Sony Cybershot DSC-S600. It took GREAT pictures but it had a lot of mechanical issues. I'd sent it back to the factory three times and it could really be worked on agian, but alas, my warranty is kaputz. So I've snapped off my usual fare of en route, on the road pictures and all of them suck. I've tried about 5 of the major "settings" and it doesn't seem to matter what I do, but they all turn out grainy and "foggy" and just crummy. For the money I paid for this camera it should take better quality pictures. Of course, today I reviewed the new camera online via various sites and it seems that the "crummy picture syndrome"

Open Forum

I have been thinking about opening myself up for questions and inquiry on both a personal and professional level recently. Today I decided I'd go for it. I am opening the floor to you, my readers, to ask me anything. Now, please understand that I have the right to refuse to answer any question I do no feel will be productive or at least entertaining. I am hoping for some really interesting questions, so don't disappoint me! I also would appreciate keeping things G or at least PG, in case there are young impressionable's reading this blog. Mmm...Jello

I just finished a sugar free Cherry Gel snack ( I can't call it Jell-O since it's officially a generic brand that I bought). It was yummy. Not nearly as yummy as the foods I spoiled myself with the last few days. Night one, sushi. It was damn good sushi shared with good company, whom I know let me off really cheap on my cost of the meal. It was fantastic and I was surprised at how well sushi went with light beer. Go figure. Night two, Mongolian. O M G I could eat Mongolian every freaking day for the rest of my life and never tire. It's the bestest. Primarily because you make it how you want it.
