What's the hold up?

Yeah so I was all excited to get back to work today. Okay okay you got me. But let's just say I was excited. Nevertheless I was prepared. I even strapped on my steel toe boots. If that doesn't say "lets do this" I don't know what does.

I turned on my company cell phone and saw that I had a message from my boss saying "you're clear to work call john to see what the schedule is". You see, my boss is out of town getting valuable training and this John is filling in as shop manager in his stead. So I call John. Left him a voice mail and waited.

While I waited I figured I'd get a few errands taken care of. So I headed out and about. Still not getting a call back after an hour I decided to text him for info. And as of yet, still no return call or text. And I can't get anyone else to answer me either.

Now either I've been fired and didn't know it or am being avoided. I tend to think the latter is the case. But either way, kinda rude.

I do know that the shop is down to one truck at the moment and so even if I were able to jump in and work I'd have to work with the other two drivers to schedule a time to be in the one truck. So I guess maybe it's better if I wait until my regular shift starts on Sunday so I'm not stuck doing midnights or something crazy like drawing straws with the two other drivers.

I dunno. BAH!

But whatever, changes are on the horizon and if things go well it won't be a concern much longer.

Oooh... bait. Bite fishy bite!

Digital Camera Help...

I recently bought a Kodak EasyShare M863 camera at Circuit City. I am not thrilled with the quality of pictures and some of the camera's functions. Mind you, I've only taken about 50 pictures so far, but when I uploaded them to my laptop and viewed them on the screen, they just looked horrible. My old camera was a Sony Cybershot DSC-S600. It took GREAT pictures but it had a lot of mechanical issues. I'd sent it back to the factory three times and it could really be worked on agian, but alas, my warranty is kaputz. So I've snapped off my usual fare of en route, on the road pictures and all of them suck. I've tried about 5 of the major "settings" and it doesn't seem to matter what I do, but they all turn out grainy and "foggy" and just crummy. For the money I paid for this camera it should take better quality pictures. Of course, today I reviewed the new camera online via various sites and it seems that the "crummy picture syndrome"

Open Forum

I have been thinking about opening myself up for questions and inquiry on both a personal and professional level recently. Today I decided I'd go for it. I am opening the floor to you, my readers, to ask me anything. Now, please understand that I have the right to refuse to answer any question I do no feel will be productive or at least entertaining. I am hoping for some really interesting questions, so don't disappoint me! I also would appreciate keeping things G or at least PG, in case there are young impressionable's reading this blog. Blowin' Stuff Up

Man, I've been seriously fortunate lately. Since I last posted, I had the pleasure of finally putting that darned HAZMAT endorsement to use by taking a load of potassium nitrate into Canada. Of course, my initial reaction was to wonder why my dispatcher hated me enough to do this to me. But then I realized it was just a fine opportunity to expand my horizons. I was afraid that the load was going to be a huge hassle when crossing the border. Turns out, they didn't give two craps about what I was hauling. I approached customs anticipating much ado and received...well... nothing. I was in Canada in less than 5 minutes upon reaching the border crossing. Woo hoo! So far so good. So I arrive at my destination and find myself thinking that finally the tables have turned and luck is running for the hills.
