Karma

In a comment on my last blog my friend commented on how karma might play a role in my life after having donated the flour to folks who needed it instead of just throwing it away.

Kinda funny since I felt the full presence of Karma this morning when I woke up to call in and see what my next assignment was going to be. I talked to "T" my dispatch planner asking him what he had in store for me today.

He had a load picking up 11 miles from where I am now.. and going straight to Columbus Ohio.

Halleluia!

I am going to be leaving here shortly and heading over to get my empty and then to get my load. Then hopefully at some point later in the day, I'll finally be leaving the state of Texas.

I am so happy I could sh*t.

.....I am also in the Holiday mood thanks to the guy parked next to me BLARING the local station that is playing All Christmas, Till Christmas. Things are looking up and my spirits are higher than they've been in the past few days.

Which is saying a lot actually. Last night I had the most horrid nightmare in relation to my concerns about not being able to be home for this weekend and I actually woke up one minute before my alarm was set to go off, sobbing like a baby. It was insane... a powerful dream that I care not to share the details of but I will share that it definitly makes me appreciate everything I have in my life, family and friends alike.

So to you my dear friend, family member, reader... thank you for being a part of my life. You are very special to me and I am truly blessed to have you with me wherever I go.

.....gotta run folks! Hopefully I'll be blogging from WV next!

Digital Camera Help...

I recently bought a Kodak EasyShare M863 camera at Circuit City. I am not thrilled with the quality of pictures and some of the camera's functions. Mind you, I've only taken about 50 pictures so far, but when I uploaded them to my laptop and viewed them on the screen, they just looked horrible. My old camera was a Sony Cybershot DSC-S600. It took GREAT pictures but it had a lot of mechanical issues. I'd sent it back to the factory three times and it could really be worked on agian, but alas, my warranty is kaputz. So I've snapped off my usual fare of en route, on the road pictures and all of them suck. I've tried about 5 of the major "settings" and it doesn't seem to matter what I do, but they all turn out grainy and "foggy" and just crummy. For the money I paid for this camera it should take better quality pictures. Of course, today I reviewed the new camera online via various sites and it seems that the "crummy picture syndrome"

Open Forum

I have been thinking about opening myself up for questions and inquiry on both a personal and professional level recently. Today I decided I'd go for it. I am opening the floor to you, my readers, to ask me anything. Now, please understand that I have the right to refuse to answer any question I do no feel will be productive or at least entertaining. I am hoping for some really interesting questions, so don't disappoint me! I also would appreciate keeping things G or at least PG, in case there are young impressionable's reading this blog. Blowin' Stuff Up

Man, I've been seriously fortunate lately. Since I last posted, I had the pleasure of finally putting that darned HAZMAT endorsement to use by taking a load of potassium nitrate into Canada. Of course, my initial reaction was to wonder why my dispatcher hated me enough to do this to me. But then I realized it was just a fine opportunity to expand my horizons. I was afraid that the load was going to be a huge hassle when crossing the border. Turns out, they didn't give two craps about what I was hauling. I approached customs anticipating much ado and received...well... nothing. I was in Canada in less than 5 minutes upon reaching the border crossing. Woo hoo! So far so good. So I arrive at my destination and find myself thinking that finally the tables have turned and luck is running for the hills.
