Normality
I'm giving solid foods a break for the little Starfish today. She spent the greater part of last evening and this morning spitting up when in an upright position. I know part of it is the amount of saliva she's swallowing as a result of teething, but I kinda wonder if her little stomach just isn't quite ready for solids yet as well.
So I'm gonna give her a days' break at least to see if it helps. For one, I'm tired of having to clean up spit-up and I'm also a little concerned for her because she seems to be acting different. Last night we had a tough time getting her settled for bed. She hasn't cried like that for some weeks now. And this morning instead of her usual happy morning glory self, she woke up screaming her head off and very upset. Since she started sleeping through the night she's not done that... ever. So I'm a little worried.
I'm sure it's nothing. I'm sure it's normal.
There's a lot going on inside her little head, what with all the learning she's doing.
So I can't expect her to be rainbows and unicorns all the time.
It's got to be confusing and frustrating.
Think about the last time you took a class or had to learn something new, how your head felt like it might explode with all the new information that you were required to retain for the purpose of a quiz and subsequent use of that knowledge.
Now imagine being a baby learning EVERYTHING that we already know as grown-ups... the simple things we take for granted like swallowing food, moving our limbs, grabbing things and heck... even just sitting up.
I can't fault her for being so cranky. But I can wish it was something neither of us had to go through.
