Yikes

I didn't imagine when I posted the bloggy with foto's earlier and said "I'd blog soon", that it'd be back in the same day. But here I am, compelled. I don't have anything interesting to say, really. Nothing in particular that brought me here to blog. I just felt compelled. Simply compelled. I suppose I could blog about the tragedy that occurred while I was on vacation this past weekend. I woke up with my friends to learn that one of the greatest comedians of all time passed from this life. I loved George Carlin. I remember getting free tickets to see him perform on stage at the Paramount theatre in Ashland , KY quite a few years ago. I laughed my arse off that night. I then purchased three of his albums and laughed a whole lot more, and frequently. That's sort of depressing though and I'm not at all interested in focusing on the death of a comedian ( RIP George, you'll be F'n missed .) I suppose I could blog instead, about the fa

Quick Pic's...

Just felt compelled to post a few pictures that I've taken recently. Hope you enjoy. I'll surely post a blog soon... I am just still relishing the post camping trip buzz and don't really want to focus too much on work. I suppose if anyone is intersted, I can post some pictures from that trip. But for now... this is all you get. :o) Interstate Travel - Keeping to the straight and not so narrow. A really neato bridge. I was really affected emotionally while driving through the States of Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, etc. during the first stages of the severe flooding that's been going on. These next three shots were taken in Iowa, I believe all of them along I-80. The shots were taken before the worst of the flooding occured, if you can imagine. I can't. I found this amusing. The sign was probably all of 50 ft. tall or something insane like that. I just loved it. And finally... the choo-choo train that I encountered while taking a "shortcut" to a consign

The Gray Matter

Today, as I was washing my hands in a rest area restroom, I noticed upon looking at my reflection in the mirror that I was sprouting more gray hairs. A couple of years ago I noticed a mere lightening at my temples. I've watched as it thickened to a slight lightening. Most recently I started to notice a few random "pigtails" sticking out from various other areas around my nugget. I call them "pigtails" because apparently my gray hairs are going to be curly and each individual strand slightly thicker than my "regular" dark brown hairs. The thick/curlyness of these gray hairs causes them to stick out among the crowd, so to speak, making it easier for me to find them with just a quick glance. This annoys me. I am not afraid to age and grow old. I know it's part of the cycle of life. The circle of life. But it annoys me that this one sign of aging has to stick it's little gray neck out and shout.."look at me!" everytime I look in th

Today.

Just something I need to get off my chest. Today I was nearly in an accident on I-10 in East Texas. I have witnessed accidents before, but never one that occured right beside me and nearly involved me. I was driving along a stretch where there were several entrance ramps in a row that merged from the frontage road that runs along I-10. I was hanging out in the granny lane (slow lane) and keeping my cruise set at my maximum allowable speed of 60 MPH. I was scanning my passenger side mirror to make sure there wasn't anyone coming on the entrance ramp that was merging with my lane. It was all clear and I continued to maintain my speed. I then glanced over to scan my drivers' side mirror out of habit (a damn good habit, I might add) and I saw a teal blue pickup truck dart out from behind my trailer into the hammer lane (passing lane). The driver of the truck was accelerating at an high rate of speed. The truck was traveling at what I guestimate to have been at least 75-80 MPH

UGH!

Seriously... WTF is up with the weather this year? Is it just that I'm traveling and therefore being exposed to it more than just seeing it in a news broadcast? Or is this just a really active severe weather year? Today I was delayed for nearly two and a half hours in St. Louis. Partly due to construction, partly due to standard Friday afternoon congestion, and partly due to morons wrecking in the rain. While I was creeping along a 27 or so mile stretch of interstate I was pounded and pummeled by hail, rain, insane winds, and the threat of yet more tornado's. Thank GAWD I was only driving about 4 MPH the whole time and therefore visibility never became an issue. But c'mon... it's gettin' old! Now of course, I'm headed to Florida, aka the Sunshine State. But will it be sunny? Probably.. and also like 100 frickin' degrees. I wish I could create my own planet where it is always a perfect 76 degrees with limited humidity and a soft gentle breeze. Ok, so ma

And More!

So I had promised to blog with pictures... and I did. So there. That should do for a while! Actually I'll have more pictures at the end of this one, just because I found a few more I wanted to share. But you'll just have to read what I have to say before you get that desert! It's been a little bit since I blogged a good blog. Well... okay so it was about a week ago. And honestly, nothing of any real consequence has occured since then. The morning after I blogged in CT, I went to West Haven, CT to get loaded up with my next load. The guy I dealt with at the warehouse there was a gem of a guy. Not often do you find someone so friendly and funny and enjoyable! When I backed up to the door I went in and checked to make sure I was lined up right when I noticed that the nose of the trailer was FILTHY and that it needed swept out. I did my part by cleaning it up and then went to tell the guy that it was clean and ready. We ended up talking for about 15 minutes. I learne

Who Interviewed Moi?

Image
Why Nancy did, of course. You must go over to her blog and check out our exciting interview! HERE IT IS Enjoy. (insert hold muzak while readers check out interview here) Now that you've read the interview and made it back to my blog, you should continue to read this entry. Lots of exciting stuff here... As you can SEE... (ahem.. yep... picture time!) This was a wrong turn I made thanks to crappy directions which told me to exit the interstate and turn right. The right turn took me onto this road, which started out paved and turned into a dirt/gravel road not meant for my rig. Scary enough. But I survived. I found a turn around point at a logging yard a mile or so up the road. At the place I was actually delivering to, this foto was taken to prove a point that you shouldn't drink and drive. The rear tires of this truck caught my attention the most. Hmm... A view of the Hudson from the west bound lanes of the Tappan Zee Bridge in NY State. I just love the little light hous
