Like a Rock

I may have mentioned before that we are in the midst of a full kitchen remodel.

Well today the guy from the Granite place is coming to measure and do the layout for our counter tops.  Soooo excited.

Last week we ended up at the Granite shop where we threw three years of searching and finally picking a style of granite out the window and went a completely different direction with a different stone entirely. If the truck didn't have any trouble getting here, we are also able to go view the slabs that we will be getting our cuts from.

I'm seriously excited.  The counter top is the last major purchase and nearly the final piece of the kitchen puzzle.  After the counters are installed we can do the tile back splash and then drop in the cook top, sink, and connect all the bits to make our kitchen complete.

Sooooo exciting!

Here's a little sneaky peeky:

There will be double ovens on the end , then a drop in 5 burner stove top next to that.
Here is the wall that will have the nook with two bar stools and plenty of counter space.

Somehow I've not snapped a recent picture where the sink and fridge and such will be.  But maybe it's good to leave a little mystery for the final reveal!

More to come......

GG, that looks so elegant.

Next phase of your blog, you're going to have to start posting recipes or something!

Good luck with finishing this kitchen. Hugs to Leelu.

PS: are you drinking the Chemical Valley water yet? I'd be wary ... Deer Park or Polar wants your business, and who knows where they get their agua?

We are doing laundry, washing dishes and cleaning our bodies with the water, but we are using bottled water for all of our drinking and cooking needs.

The "aquapocalypse" as it's locally being referred to, really was an incredible inconvenience but we made it through the worst of it. It will, however, be quite some time before we trust the tap water completely.

As of right now, we no longer smell the licorice scent that was associated with the chemical that was spilled into our water system, but for me that's not much of an assurance to the overall safety of our water.
