Sneaky, Sneaky Sir....

I sit here listening to "The Sound of Music" soundtrack knowing a big secret.

Shhhhh....I am going to sneak home for a day tomorrow! hehe

I have a load that I picked up today that is going to Pennsylvania and I was able to choose between two routes to get there. I of course chose the route that takes me through my hometown of Charleston! Sneaky Sneaky!

But honestly, it's not a big deal as it is only 30 miles different from the other route and I don't technically have to deliver the load until Friday, even though I'm going to see about delivering it on Thursday evening... after I've had my fill of home cookin' and my own bed!

By the way, my Christmas Eve and Christmas Day haven't been all that bad. I was a little depressed yesterday while listening to Christmas carols about being home for the holiday's and such. But after a good nite's rest and a sunshiny Christmas morning things got better and I was in a pretty good mood today!

I did have the pleasure of a mucky dirty load drop and pick up this morning though. And I got lucky that I got to the facility before the rains came today. The place was already a muddy mess and I got quite dirty as it was. But it'd been much worse if it'd been raining.

Is "it'd" even a valid contraction? Probably not but it should be!

Anywho. My brain really isn't into blogging, but I wanted to post something for my fans. I will blog again before too long!

Digital Camera Help...

I recently bought a Kodak EasyShare M863 camera at Circuit City. I am not thrilled with the quality of pictures and some of the camera's functions. Mind you, I've only taken about 50 pictures so far, but when I uploaded them to my laptop and viewed them on the screen, they just looked horrible. My old camera was a Sony Cybershot DSC-S600. It took GREAT pictures but it had a lot of mechanical issues. I'd sent it back to the factory three times and it could really be worked on agian, but alas, my warranty is kaputz. So I've snapped off my usual fare of en route, on the road pictures and all of them suck. I've tried about 5 of the major "settings" and it doesn't seem to matter what I do, but they all turn out grainy and "foggy" and just crummy. For the money I paid for this camera it should take better quality pictures. Of course, today I reviewed the new camera online via various sites and it seems that the "crummy picture syndrome"

Open Forum

I have been thinking about opening myself up for questions and inquiry on both a personal and professional level recently. Today I decided I'd go for it. I am opening the floor to you, my readers, to ask me anything. Now, please understand that I have the right to refuse to answer any question I do no feel will be productive or at least entertaining. I am hoping for some really interesting questions, so don't disappoint me! I also would appreciate keeping things G or at least PG, in case there are young impressionable's reading this blog. Blowin' Stuff Up

Man, I've been seriously fortunate lately. Since I last posted, I had the pleasure of finally putting that darned HAZMAT endorsement to use by taking a load of potassium nitrate into Canada. Of course, my initial reaction was to wonder why my dispatcher hated me enough to do this to me. But then I realized it was just a fine opportunity to expand my horizons. I was afraid that the load was going to be a huge hassle when crossing the border. Turns out, they didn't give two craps about what I was hauling. I approached customs anticipating much ado and received...well... nothing. I was in Canada in less than 5 minutes upon reaching the border crossing. Woo hoo! So far so good. So I arrive at my destination and find myself thinking that finally the tables have turned and luck is running for the hills.
