Nightmare on My Street

I was sitting here this morning on a second day off sick sipping coffee and eating cereal, between coughing fits. I looked to my left to retrieve my coffee cup when I noticed a little bitty ant crawling around on the tabletop. UGH! I squished him dead and kept on about my business of breakfasting.

I was nearly finished with my cereal when I wanted another wash of coffee and as I reached for my cup I was shocked to see about 8 more ants creeping around the tabletop. Grrr... I hate ants. I hate bugs. I hate things with more than 4 legs.

I was annoyed, disgusted and such. But I just mashed them along with the other and kept on about my morning. Griping, of course, about how there were ants interrupting my breakfast.

After I was done eating I sat my empty cereal bowl on another table and decided I wanted to play on the internet for a little bit. I hadn't used my laptop for internet surfing for a few days so I figured I'd save myself the headache of having to read the tiny print on my iPhone and grabbed the laptop off the back of the couch.

I placed the computer on my lap and opened it up. To my absolute horror the laptop was full of creepy crawly ants. (of course full for me was somewhere around 20 ants) I worked hard to NOT throw my computer across the room in disgust. Instead I quickly sat it on the ottoman and shrieked to my sweetie to save me from the ant attack.

The damn buggers scattered quickly and found their way INSIDE my laptop via various cracks and crevices. As I've been typing this I've had to take pause periodically to mash ants that have resurfaced to meet their fate at my fingertips.

I hate ants.

Stuff like that always makes me wonder why I ask the wife and kids not to eat at their computers. I've never had to replace a keyboard, or mouse. They need a new one at least twice a year, go figure...

I'm just sayin'...lol

Digital Camera Help...

I recently bought a Kodak EasyShare M863 camera at Circuit City. I am not thrilled with the quality of pictures and some of the camera's functions. Mind you, I've only taken about 50 pictures so far, but when I uploaded them to my laptop and viewed them on the screen, they just looked horrible. My old camera was a Sony Cybershot DSC-S600. It took GREAT pictures but it had a lot of mechanical issues. I'd sent it back to the factory three times and it could really be worked on agian, but alas, my warranty is kaputz. So I've snapped off my usual fare of en route, on the road pictures and all of them suck. I've tried about 5 of the major "settings" and it doesn't seem to matter what I do, but they all turn out grainy and "foggy" and just crummy. For the money I paid for this camera it should take better quality pictures. Of course, today I reviewed the new camera online via various sites and it seems that the "crummy picture syndrome"

Open Forum

I have been thinking about opening myself up for questions and inquiry on both a personal and professional level recently. Today I decided I'd go for it. I am opening the floor to you, my readers, to ask me anything. Now, please understand that I have the right to refuse to answer any question I do no feel will be productive or at least entertaining. Blowin' Stuff Up

Man, I've been seriously fortunate lately. Since I last posted, I had the pleasure of finally putting that darned HAZMAT endorsement to use by taking a load of potassium nitrate into Canada. Of course, my initial reaction was to wonder why my dispatcher hated me enough to do this to me. But then I realized it was just a fine opportunity to expand my horizons. I was afraid that the load was going to be a huge hassle when crossing the border. Turns out, they didn't give two craps about what I was hauling. I approached customs anticipating much ado and received...well... nothing. I was in Canada in less than 5 minutes upon reaching the border crossing. Woo hoo! So far so good. So I arrive at my destination and find myself thinking that finally the tables have turned and luck is running for the hills.
