California Bound...

I finally got the big miles load I'd been waiting for! I was waiting for my next work assignment after delivering a load in Arkansas, wondering where I would be headed next. Turns out... California. The sunny southern portion to boot! I was thrilled, until I started to work up a proper trip plan.

I am having to run a very tight, very tough schedule in order to make on time delivery in the Redlands area of So. Cal. But so far I've been managing quite well. Until today. It's about 1am pacific time and I'm still sitting still, when I should be rolling. Why? Shitty parking lots with sharp objects just lying about.

I've been so careful the whole trip to make sure my rig is in tip-top shape that I have even been performing full post trip inspections to make sure things are holding up along the way. Last night, everything was peachy keen. So I ate a quick meal and then went to sleep way before the sun did.

But after hitting the snooze bar three or four times this morning I finally arose, got dressed, went in to do my morning thing and came back out to do my pre-trip. Only this time, things weren't in order. I have a flat tire on my trailer. And am essentially in the middle of nowhere. This sucks. I've been waiting for over half an hour for our "emergency maintenance" department to locate and acquire services so that my problem child tire can be repaired. (and as I type I just got confirmation that a road service place is on the way... in two hours time)

So, here I sit, burning up my valuable traveling time knowing that I'm probably NOT going to be able to make on time delivery. I've sent in the proper messages to alert those that need to know of the situation and they have all responded back that I should just wait until I'm fixed and ready to roll to update my estimated time of delivery. So that's what I shall do I suppose.

In the meantime, I'm at least lucky enough to have some spare time to check my e-mail and post this little bloggy.

Then hopefully after my tire gets fixed I'll be bound for California. Wish me luck! ha

Make sure you plug in some Beach Boys music when you hit the California state line.

I've never been there so I'll have to live vicariously through your next blog. Enjoy the nice weather.

Your comment moderation word is crumabl. I hope that it isn't a precursor to your trip.

Hi GiGi,

I hope they fixed your tire quickly so you could get on down the road.

California would be nice to see this time of year.

Wags & wiggles,
Bijou
