I wish...

I was in the mood to blog my little heart out. But I’m not. So I’ll make it short and sweet, for my fans... haha.

I had dreams of a night in Las Vegas dashed away when I arrived at a shipper in Iowa to find out that the load I’d been dispatched to pick up and take to So. Cal. didn’t actually exist, well not until next week. So, I was reassigned to get a load going to North Carolina. Bummer. Although, bright side of this load is I am enjoying 70 degree weather here in Charlotte, NC and getting some laundry and shopping done.

Shortly, I’ll find food and then get some rest. I deliver my current load at 8am on the south side of town and then who knows where I’ll go from there!

Short review, I had 4 days at home this past weekend and enjoyed spending time with my sister and her little family. I got to spend one day with my sweetie and then had to get back out on the road. I had the pleasure of picking up a load in Ravenswood, WV bound for Davenport, IA. I also got to spend a night at Truckers Heaven, the Iowa 80 Truckstop in Walcott, IA. It was nice. I had icecream! hahahaha

Well that’s it for now. I’ll blog more later when I have something better to blog about! toodles.

Digital Camera Help...

I recently bought a Kodak EasyShare M863 camera at Circuit City. I am not thrilled with the quality of pictures and some of the camera's functions. Mind you, I've only taken about 50 pictures so far, but when I uploaded them to my laptop and viewed them on the screen, they just looked horrible. My old camera was a Sony Cybershot DSC-S600. It took GREAT pictures but it had a lot of mechanical issues. I'd sent it back to the factory three times and it could really be worked on agian, but alas, my warranty is kaputz. So I've snapped off my usual fare of en route, on the road pictures and all of them suck. I've tried about 5 of the major "settings" and it doesn't seem to matter what I do, but they all turn out grainy and "foggy" and just crummy. For the money I paid for this camera it should take better quality pictures. Of course, today I reviewed the new camera online via various sites and it seems that the "crummy picture syndrome"

Open Forum

I have been thinking about opening myself up for questions and inquiry on both a personal and professional level recently. Today I decided I'd go for it. I am opening the floor to you, my readers, to ask me anything. Now, please understand that I have the right to refuse to answer any question I do no feel will be productive or at least entertaining. I am hoping for some really interesting questions, so don't disappoint me! I also would appreciate keeping things G or at least PG, in case there are young impressionable's reading this blog. I am anxious to see what you want to know about me and my life on the road. As questions come in and I have time to answer them, I will post them as individual blogs. Blowin' Stuff Up

Man, I've been seriously fortunate lately. Since I last posted, I had the pleasure of finally putting that darned HAZMAT endorsement to use by taking a load of potassium nitrate into Canada. Of course, my initial reaction was to wonder why my dispatcher hated me enough to do this to me. But then I realized it was just a fine opportunity to expand my horizons. I was afraid that the load was going to be a huge hassle when crossing the border. Turns out, they didn't give two craps about what I was hauling. I approached customs anticipating much ado and received...well... nothing. I was in Canada in less than 5 minutes upon reaching the border crossing. Woo hoo! So far so good. So I arrive at my destination and find myself thinking that finally the tables have turned and luck is running for the hills.
